Community Campus College-wide Locks and Security Upgrade
September 17 through December 31, 2013, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., a contractor will install communications wiring in hallway areas and in designated office spaces. The contractor will also install electrical locking devices on doors B106, B129, B133 and B158. These electrical locks will become operational at a later date. Disruptions should be minimal. Please watch for workers and equipment in the vicinity of the work.
District Office - Buildings C and D, Skylight Replacement in Main Lobby Entrance
December 7 through 31, 2013, contractors will replace the skylight in the main lobby between Buildings C and D. On Saturday, December 7, work will begin with the construction of a tunnel on the second floor between the two buildings to allow access during construction. A crane will be on site during the removal and reinstallation of the skylight. Contractors will use the main entrance and the back exit of Building C to move materials and equipment. District Office Routine Maintenance - Interior Painting
Routine painting maintenance is continuing at the District Office. This work will be on going until completed. Painting will occur in rooms and hallways at the convenience of the District Office staff. Disruptions will be minimal.
Downtown Campus - Science and Technology Building (ST) Mechanical Upgrades
September 23, 2013 through January 4, 2014, a new cooling tower and enclosure will be constructed on the northwest side of the ST Building. A roof air handler will be replaced and new distribution piping will be routed though the building and the north exterior yard. A portion of the parking lot northwest of the ST building will used for the contractor’s staging area. Disruptions will be minimal. Please plan accordingly. [view map]
Downtown Campus Sewer Repairs
November 20 through December 11, 2013, Pima County will make sewer repairs at three locations on the Downtown Campus. The areas are the north parking lot, the area east of the Student Link Building, and in the area of the corridor between the Campus Center (CC)/Library (LB) and the Roosevelt Building (RV). Work will occur between 6 A.M. and 9 P.M. Work near pedestrian areas will be schedule around regular campus hours for minimal disruptions. Watch for areas with designated walkways. Parking lot area repairs will be accessed through manholes and are not expected to affect parking. There will be workers and trucks on campus. All buildings will be accessible. East Campus Chilled Water Valve Replacement
November 22 through December 13, 2013, contractors and staff will replace chilled water valves in the underground utility vault west of the E5 Building. There will be no chilled water on the campus between November 30 and December 2. Expect some noise during the demolition of the concrete slab. There will be no access to the west entrance of the E5 corridor during this time. Use caution in this area. [view map]
East Campus Student Life/Business Services/DSR Renovation Project
November 11 through December 13, 2013, contractors will remodel the Business Services area in E6-618. There will be no access to this area during that time. Use caution and watch for contractors moving equipment and materials along the north side of the E-6 Building. There will be construction noise in the immediate vicinity. Business Services will be temporarily located in E5-517. Please plan accordingly. [view map]
Northwest Campus - College-wide Locks & Security Upgrade

Northwest Campus New Building Expansion
November 29, 2012, work began on the construction of the new three story science lab and classroom building. The building site is southwest of Building E. A portion of the parking lot across from the building site is being used for the contractor’s staging area. A second secure area is a temporary storage site for steel trusses. There is no access to the construction site or staging area. Watch for workers moving equipment and materials. There is construction noise and dust. [view map]
West Campus Art (L) Building Roofing Work
October 27 through November 29, 2013, contractors will remove roofing materials and recoat the roof on the Art (L) Building. Work will begin daily at 10 P.M. and continue through to 5 P.M. each day. There will be minimal odors. Watch for designated walkways in this area. All buildings will be accessible. Please plan accordingly. [view map]
West Campus - College-wide Locks & Security Upgrade
October 14 through December 31, 2013, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., contractors will install communication wiring in hallway areas and in designated office spaces. The contractor will also install electrical locking devices on the following doors:
- Center for the Arts: Rooms 127 and 161
- Rincon (F): Room F136
- Santa Catalina (C): C125, C138, and C141
- Science (K): K203 and K204
- Tumamoc (R): R01, R04, R11, R17, R20, R23, R25, and R29
These electrical locks will become operational at a later date. Disruptions should be minimal. Please watch for workers and equipment in the vicinity of the work.
West Campus Lock Standardization
July 29 through November 30, 2013, 6 A.M. to 5 P.M., staff will complete the standardization of locks on the West Campus in the Center for the Arts (CFA), Rincon (F), Santa Catalina (C), Santa Rita (A), Sentinel Peak (J), and Tucson (H) buildings. There may be minor disruptions in the immediate vicinity of the work. Watch for alternate access routes as necessary.
- Key Request Form: Submit to Work Control by July 19, 2013 in order to ensure continued access. Email the approved form to firstname.lastname@example.org. Use “Key” in the subject line to expedite processing. Key requests may also be submitted through the inter-campus mail to Work Control, MS #1700. You will be notified by email when your new key is ready for pickup at the West Campus Mail Room/Receiving Dock.
- Key Return and Receipt Form: After your lock is changed, complete the Key Return form and return “Sargent” keys to the same location.
