Improvement Projects

College-wide Sargent Key Returns

Facilities staff has completed the college-wide lock standardization project.  Sargent locks are no longer used by the College and Sargent keys (see sample) must be returned to Facilities Work Control Department.  Please complete the attached PCC Key Return and Receipt form and return Sargent keys by February 28, 2014 to one of the following locations.

Community Campus College-wide Locks and Security Upgrade

September 17, 2013 through May 31, 2014, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., a contractor will install communications wiring in hallway areas and in designated office spaces.  The contractor will also install electrical locking devices on doors B106, B129, B133 and B158.  These electrical locks will become operational at a later date.  Disruptions should be minimal.  Please watch for workers and equipment in the vicinity of the work.

Desert Vista Campus Pueblo Building - Science Laboratory Renovation

March 4 through August 31, 2014, contractors will remodel classroom and prep areas on the north side of the Pueblo Building.  There will be no access to the areas in the immediate vicinity of the construction.  Watch for workers moving materials and equipment through the exits on the north side of the building.  There will be construction noise and dust.  Please plan accordingly.  [view maps]

District Office Roofing Repairs

February 4 through June 12, 2014, staff will repair rain gutters, roof penetrations, and reseal roofs on Buildings A, B, C, and D.  Watch for taped off areas and restricted walkways in the vicinity of the work.  Disruptions will be minimal.  Please plan accordingly.

East Campus - Building M6 Restroom Upgrade

February 12 through June 15, 2014, staff will remove the M6 restroom building and prepare the site for the installation of the new restroom.  There will be restricted walkways and coned areas as needed.  Please use alternate restrooms in the E4 Building.  Disruptions will be minimal.  Please plan accordingly. East Campus Routine Maintenance - Interior Painting

Beginning January 13, 2014, staff painters will perform routine painting maintenance beginning in the O1 Building.  Painting occurring in rooms and hallways will be at the convenience of campus staff.  Work will be on going until complete and disruptions should be minimal.

East Campus Student Life/Business Services/DSR Renovation Project - Phase III

Disabled Student Resources (DSR) is now located in L107, Student Life is in E618.  March 25 through April 30, 2014, contractors will renovate the former DSR area for the new Business Services space.  There will be no access to this area during that time.  Use caution and watch for contractors moving equipment and materials through the café, seating, and lounge area of the Library Student Center.  There will be construction noise in the immediate vicinity.  Business Services is temporarily located in E5-517.  Please plan accordingly.

Northwest Campus - Erosion Control

February 10 through April 30, 2014, staff will move rocks from the south parking lot to the open area on the north end of the parking lot.  Please watch for equipment and trucks in parking lots and driveways.  Minimal disruptions are expected. [view map]

Northwest Campus New Building Expansion

November 29, 2012, work began on the construction of the new three story science lab and classroom building.  The building site is southwest of Building E.  A portion of the parking lot across from the building site is being used for the contractor’s staging area.  A second secure area is a temporary storage site for steel trusses.  There is no access to the construction site or staging area.  Watch for workers moving equipment and materials.  There is construction noise and dust.  [view map]

West Campus - College-wide Locks & Security Upgrade

October 14, 2013 through May 31, 2014, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.,  contractors will install communication wiring in hallway areas and in designated office spaces.  The contractor will also install electrical locking devices on the following doors:

  • Center for the Arts:  Rooms 127 and 161
  • Rincon (F):  Room F136
  • Santa Catalina (C):  C125, C138, and C141
  • Science (K):  K203 and K204
  • Tumamoc (R):  R01, R04, R11, R17, R20, R23, R25, and R29

These electrical locks will become operational at a later date.  Disruptions should be minimal.  Please watch for workers and equipment in the vicinity of the work.  

West Campus Gym - Women’s Locker Room/Training Area Remodel

April 14 through September 20, 2014, contractors will remodel the women’s locker room, training areas, and storage on the ground floor of the Gym (B) Building.  Rooms on the east side will not be affected.  The gym floor will be open during construction and can be accessed on the north side of the building.

There will be a fence around the construction site at the gym.  Contractors will also have a fenced area in Lot N, Section 1 for material staging and designated parking places next to the materials area.  Watch for signage directing traffic in this section of the parking lot.

Construction noise will be minimal.  Please plan accordingly.  [view maps]
