State & Local Government Relations

The Office of State and Local Government Relations provides college-wide leadership in developing the College's legislative agenda through a consultative process with all College employee groups.  We work collaboratively with the rest of the Arizona Community Colleges in aligning Pima’s legislative priorities.  We are also responsible for engaging community members and organizations as part of an advocacy network, to support and advance the College’s legislative agenda.

The Office builds key relationships on behalf of the College, and provides college-wide coordination and intergovernmental relations with all levels of government agencies in collaboration with community members, businesses, local educational agencies, and organizations to build support for the College mission and legislative priorities. 

We are Pima’s primary liaison in communicating with:

  • Arizona Legislature
  • Governor’s Office and state agencies
  • Offices of the Pima County Administrator and Board of Supervisors
  • the offices of the local Mayors and Councils in Pima County, including
    • City of Tucson
    • City of South Tucson
    • Town of Oro Valley
    • Town of Marana
    • Town of Sahuarita
  • and the local Tribal governments of:
    • Tohono O’odham Nation
    • Pascua Yaqui Tribe
