Train for a career as a pharmacy technician

Use your excellent people skills and precise attention to detail in a career that really matters - pharmacy technology.  Pharmacy technicians play an important role on the pharmacy team, verifying the accuracy of prescriptions and helping pharmacists prepare and distribute medications to patients.  You will establish and maintain patient profiles and interact with co-workers, healthcare professionals and patients.

Pharmacy technicians are in high demand; job choices may include hospital and retail pharmacies, clinics, nursing homes, internet pharmacies and nuclear medicine facilities.

The PCC Pharmacy Technology Program
Pima’s state-of-the art Pharmacy Technology program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.  In this program, students learn to manage inventories, count and measure prescriptions accurately, and use computers.   Coursework also focuses on medications, their uses, possible side effects and appropriate doses.  Part of your training will be onsite in laboratories and clinical settings.  By graduation, you will be well prepared for the State of Arizona licensing exam and for a challenging, interesting career as a pharmacy technician.
