Second security incident at Downtown Campus

There has been a second incident of a man trying to look over stalls in a women's restroom at Pima Community College's Downtown Campus.  The suspect is described as Hispanic or African American, approximately 5'7" with short hair and pock-marked skin.

In response, the College is further increasing its patrols, increasing security staff hours to further expand coverage and hiring additional security staff.  The College had previously increased the number of police patrols on campus following two incidents in September, one at the Downtown Campus and one at the West Campus.   College Police believe all three incidents are related.

The College has also taken steps to notify students and the community of this predator.  We are posting information on the College's home page and emailing all students through their MyPima email accounts.

A flier warning students about the prior incidents had been posted outside women's bathrooms throughout the College.  These fliers are being updated to include a more detailed description of the suspect.  The updated new fliers will be posted prominently throughout all six campuses.

The College is also expanding its Campus Watch program at all campuses.  Campus Watch trains students and staff to watch for and report suspicious activity.

The College is also taking additional security measures that we are not at liberty to disclose at this time.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents or anyone who sees any suspicious behavior on campus, including anyone matching the suspect's description, should call Campus Police immediately at 206-2700.
