PCC Monitoring H1N1 (Swine Flu) Situation
The College is monitoring the swine flu outbreak through regular contact with Arizona, Pima County, and federal authorities.
The PCC Department of Public Safety’s Health Alerts web page contains information and links that will be updated regularly.
Flu Information
The College has an approved Emergency Response Plan, which includes a Pandemic Plan of Action for responding to a pandemic flu outbreak. Based on these plans and depending on the extent of the emergency, operational plans are developed to address individual issues.
Things you can do to Stay Healthy Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
Take everyday actions to stay healthy:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
- Cover your nose and mouth with tissue when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
- Stay home if you get sick.
-
Keep your immune system healthy
- Get plenty of sleep
- Engage in physical activity
- Manage your stress
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat healthy foods
