STEM Summer Bridge Program
Will you be majoring in a science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) related program? Get a head start through this learning opportunity funded by a Hispanic-Serving Institution Title III STEM Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant runs through September 2016.
The STEM Summer Bridge program is designed to introduce low-income, first-generation college students to high-demand careers in STEM fields.
Students may select one of two sessions focusing on math, engineering and physics OR math and science. The math, engineering and physics session runs June 3-13, 2013, and the math and science session runs June 17-27, 2013. Both sessions take place at Pima Community College West Campus and run 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Who is eligible?
Students who are:
- Interested in learning more about a career in science, technology, engineering or math.
- A graduating high school senior.
- Interested in attending Pima Community College.
During the two-week program, STEM Bridge students will:
- Learn mathematical skills needed for future STEM classes.
- Gain a better understanding of what it means to be a STEM student.
- Become familiar with the college experience.
- Gain a chance to make new friends who also are studying the sciences.
How to Apply
- Apply for admission to PCC.
- Take math assessments at any PCC Student Services Center.
- Provide high school transcripts.
- Complete and submit a STEM Summer Bridge application
