PCC & Northern Arizona University Team up for new 90/30 Bachelor Degrees
February 27, 2008Pima Community College and Northern Arizona University have announced a new 90/30 bachelor degree program. Pima Community College Chancellor Roy Flores and Northern Arizona University President John Haeger said the 90/30 program will allow community college students to transfer up to 90 college credits to Northern Arizona University towards specific bachelor’s degree programs. Students transferring to the 90/30 degree programs can apply approximately 50% more community college credits towards a bachelor’s degree than current two-year transfer degree programs. Four bachelor degrees are being offered by NAU under the 90/30 partnership: a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Public Management; and a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Humanities. The NAU program is Arizona’s first in-state 90/30 program leading to a baccalaureate degree. Pima Community College was the first community college in Arizona to offer a 90/30 degree option to its students. PCC began a 90/30 partnership with Indiana University offering a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies in September, 2006. Persons interested in learning more about the NAU 90/30 program should talk with an advisor at either PCC or NAU.
