Student Art Show Opens April 7
March 31, 2008 The Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery will present artwork by Pima Community College students in the annual juried art exhibition, April 7 through May 2. An awards ceremony will be held Wednesday, April 9, from 12-3 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition has been recognized as one of the most important events for emerging artists in southern Arizona. Students from all the PCC campuses have the opportunity to present their work in a professional venue to be viewed by the general public. Distinguished jurors for this year’s exhibition are: Frances Murray, photographer; Susannah Maurer, assistant curator, Museum of Art, University of Arizona; John Salgado, artist/president, Raices Taller 222 Art Gallery and Workshop. This exhibition is made possible by the generous support of the following sponsors: Arizona Designer Craftsmen, Hotel Congress-Cup Café, Posner’s, Marjon Ceramics, Sarnoff Artist Materials, McGuire’s Jewelers & Supply, Bookman’s, Jones Photo, Purls, Photographic Works, Lewis Framing Studio, and Starr Gems, Inc. The PCC Center for the Arts, Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery is located on the West Campus, 2202 West Anklam Road. Gallery hours are Mon.-Thu. 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Fri., 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and before most evening performances in the Center for the Arts theatres.
