Soto Named East Campus Dean of Student Development

Pima Community College has appointed Juan Soto as Dean of Student Development for the College’s East Campus.

Juan Soto began his career with Pima Community College in 1977 as an outreach specialist.  Since then he has progressed and expanded his experience to include financial aid, K-12 outreach, enrollment services and the college’s information center.  He has served as Acting Dean of Student Development since August 2007. 

Soto has been active in promoting education within the community throughout his career. He serves on the K-12 Counseling Department Advisory Boards for both Tucson Unified School District and the Sunnyside Unified School District.  He is also on the advisory boards for three charter schools.  He was recognized as Community Advocate of the Year in 2007 by Chicanos por la Causa, and has received multiple community services awards from the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).

Soto holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Arizona and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
