The Basic RiderCourse (BRC) is $198, which includes motorcycle license testing.

The Motorcycle ABC: Absolute Beginner Course (ABC) is $298, which includes motorcycle license testing.

What is provided in the course?

For the BRC and ABC, we provide the motorcycle, helmet and gloves.

What should I bring to class?

For the BRC and ABC, you must bring or wear the following to class:

  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket (must completely cover your arms down to the wrists and be long enough to cover your back when seated on the motorcycle)
  • Long pants with no large holes, preferably denim (must completely cover legs in a seated position)
  • Sturdy over-the-ankle boots or shoes (no tennis shoes or high heels) and
  • Eye protection (sun glasses or eye glasses are acceptable).

Do I need a motorcycle permit to take these classes?

You do not need a motorcycle permit or license to take the BRC or ABC.

Where is the class taught?

The class is held at the Pima Community College Maintenance and Security campus, located at 6680 S Country Club (Country Club/Valencia, near the Airport).

Will I get my motorcycle license after taking the class?

If you successfully complete both the written and riding skills tests, you will be issued an Arizona Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Driver Education Program Certificate of Completion.  No additional testing is required for the motorcycle endorsement.  This form and a $7 fee, paid at the MVD, will allow the motorcycle endorsement to be added to your Arizona driver's license.

If you are under 18, the MVD will not issue a motorcycle endorsement until you have had a motorcycle permit for five months. The Arizona MVD Driver Education Program Certificate of Completion is good for six months; if you do not have a motorcycle permit prior to taking the BRC or ABC, we recommend you obtain one immediately after completing the class.
