Other Overnight Tours

New to the area? Looking for an enjoyable learning experience exploring special, out-of-the-way places? Knowledgeable, skilled guides lead small groups on our overnight tours, allowing maximum interaction with the guide and the other tour members. We regularly offer overnight tours ranging from one night to a week or more in Arizona, Southwestern U.S. and Mexico. Occasionally we also offer tours to foreign countries in addition to Mexico.

Transportation is provided via 12-passenger vans on most tours. Unless otherwise indicated, tours leave from Tucson, Community Campus (CC), 401 North Bonita Ave., Tucson, Northwest Campus (NWC), 7600 N. Shannon Rd., and the Community Performing Arts and Learning Center, 1250 West Continental Rd., Green Valley.

Travel Insurance:
For tours of more than one-day, you are encouraged to consider purchasing travel insurance. Call 520.206.3952 for more information.

International Tours:

U.S. Citizens:
Proof of U.S. citizenship/residency is required.
Per the U.S. State Department, passports or other approved documents are required for all air, sea and land U.S. border crossings.

Non-U.S. Citizens/Residents:
Must show appropriate identification documentation. If you have questions, contact your consulate.

Emergency medical insurance is included in the fees for all international tours.

Fees for visas and passports are not included in the tour prices.

ST710 - Exploring Death Valley
Enjoy a visit to one of America's most extraordinary natural and cultural landscapes in Death Valley, California.  During our 6-day adventure we'll have a living history tour of unique Scotty's Castle, see the awesome geology of Titus and Mosaic Canyons, and explore old ghost towns and gold mines.  We'll see splendid panoramas from lofty Dante's View and Aguerreberry Point, high in the Panamint Mountains.  An evening stroll on drifting sand dunes is unforgettable.  Fee includes guide, transportation, lodging and all entry fees.

ST561 - Zuni to Acoma
Join us as we visit the Zuni Pueblo, salt providers of prehistory, and artisans in stone, silver and wood.  The people and the region have seen many changes over the centuries and yet, they have changed very little.  We'll visit the artisans of Zuni, see Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission and visit El Morro.  Then, it's on to Acoma, the ancient Sky City perched high atop a sandstone mesa. We'll tour the pueblo and meet the local artists.  Fee includes lodging, transportation and entry fees.

ST585 - Mimbres Ruins, Rock Art and Museums of Southern New Mexico
Registered Professional Archaeologist Allen Dart leads this comprehensive tour to southwestern New Mexico's Silver City area to visit Classic Mimbres Pueblo Ruins, Early Mogollon village archaeological sites, the Gila Cliff Dwellings, spectacular petroglyph sites, and a museum with one of the world's finest collections of Mimbres Puebloan Pottery (the kind with those spectacular human and animal figures). Tour includes transportation, lodging and entry fees.

ST733 - Chaco Canyon
The Chacoan Culture of the Anasazi represents the high point in the history of this fascinating and mysterious prehistoric people. The development over hundreds of years of a monumental series of stone cities in the midst of the desert remains enigmatic even to professional archaeologists. We'll visit the Great Houses of Chaco Canyon and the related sites of Aztec and Salmon Ruins. Tour includes walking between 1/4 and 1/2 miles, sometimes over rough terrain with uneven footing. Fee includes lodging and entry fees.
