PCC Hosts Book-Signing by Local Author

Tucson, AZ – Join us for a very special event on Tuesday, April 6. Local author Richard Shelton will read from his book, Crossing the Yard: Thirty Years as a Prison Volunteer, and will take questions and sign books after the reading.
Shelton, a University of Arizona Regents’ Professor of English Emeritus, is the author of 12 books of poetry and three books of nonfiction. His best-known book, Going Back to Bisbee, a Southern Arizona travel memoir, is in its 10th printing and was the winner of the Western States Award for creative nonfiction and the One Book Arizona contest.
Crossing the Yard was published in 2007 to much critical acclaim and won the Gold Medal award in creative nonfiction from the Independent Publisher group. According to Shelton, the book has been banned in the state prison system.
