PCC to Offer New Programs to Pascua Yaqui Tribe
October 14, 2010
Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College (PCC) Board of Governors Wednesday night voted to offer additional PCC educational and support programs to members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
The programs are part of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) renewed by the Board. The agreement’s term is October 1, 2010 to Sept. 30, 2015. PCC and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe first entered into an IGA in October 2003.
Through the renewal of the IGA, Desert Vista Campus’ Center for Training and Development will offer instruction at a facility on the Pascua Yaqui reservation to tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families clients.
Also, Community Campus’ Workforce and Business Development will offer Information Technology courses on the Pascua Yaqui reservation, and will offer customized training for the tribe’s employees through a Workforce Skills Program.
The next scheduled meeting of the Board will be Wednesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. in the PCC District Office Community/Board Room at 4905 E. Broadway
