PCC Enrolling Students in Health Professions Program

March 2, 2011

Tucson, AZ -- Pima Community College now is enrolling students in its new Pathways to Healthcare Program, funded by an $18.5 million federal Health Professions Opportunity Grant.

The five-year grant is designed to reduce Arizona’s severe shortage of professionals in health-related careers.

The grant will help PCC meet this demand by providing low-income residents of Pima County with a variety of training programs in the healthcare professions, and much needed support to the County by increasing the local healthcare workforce.

The college is partnering with Pima County OneStop to assist the recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and other low-income individuals to obtain skills needed for employment in the healthcare industry.

OneStop is hosting free information sessions at 9:30 a.m. every Friday at Rio Nuevo One Stop, 340 N. Commerce Park Loop. To register for an information session, call 798-0500. For more information on the program, call PCC HPOG Program Manager Henry Rillos, 206-5071.

This is a Equal Opportunity Employment/Program. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.
