PCC to Host 20th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament
April 5, 2011
Tucson, AZ- Pima Community College will host the 20th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on June 11, 2011 at the Dell Urich Golf Course. The proceeds of this event help PCC achieve its mission of “Developing our Community Through Learning” by providing scholarships to financially challenged students attending PCC.
Last year, support for the Golf Tournament provided scholarships for 7 students enrolled at PCC. This year, in light of the attempted assassination of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, we will be joining forces with the PCC Scholarship Endowment Fund set up to honor the memory of the victims from the Jan. 8, 2011 tragedy that claimed the lives of six Tucson community members.
This tragedy included someone very special to PCC, someone whose life goal was to better others before himself, and dedicate his time to community service and kindness, Gabe Zimmerman. Gabe was the son of PCC employee Ross Zimmerman. It is the wish of Gabe’s family and the PCC Golf Tournament committee to continue Gabe’s spirit of community service by aiding in the development of this scholarship endowment set up in his memory.
Sponsorships range from $10,000-$100 and provide a variety of benefits. Participants for the 18-hole scramble can enter in teams of four, at a cost of $75 per golfer or $300 for a team entry. Each golfer will receive a golf gift pack, lunch and the opportunity to compete for prizes and participate in the Tournament raffle.
To select sponsorship levels and register golfers, visit the secure online site by visiting the Foundation website.
