Three Speakers for PCC's Multicultural Convocation
May 2, 2011
Three members of the Pima Community College Class of 2011 will speak at this year’s Multicultural Convocation on Thursday, May 5, 2011.
The speakers are:
- Angelina V. Cruz Alvarez, who is receiving an Associate of Arts in Administration of Justice Studies and an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts. She also is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
- Aaron Howard Holley, who is receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Pharmacy Technology and an Associate of General Studies in General Studies.
- Sergio R. Leyva, who is receiving an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and an AGEC-A Certification.
Multicultural Convocation is an option Pima gives its soon-to-be graduates and their families to celebrate their academic achievements and cultural diversity. It is a free celebration that includes a dinner, music, speakers and a sash presentation. The ceremony is a smaller, more intimate event than the Graduation Ceremony, though it is open to all 2011 graduates and their families.
The keynote speaker at this year’s event is Ricardo B. Provencio, a professional storyteller, and counseling and storytelling faculty member at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix.
The convocation is at 6:30 p.m., at the PCC West Campus Gymnasium, 2202 W. Anklam Road.
