Roberts Center subject of TV news story; groundbreaking is Feb. 17

Local TV station KVOA has broadcast an informative story on PCC’s new Roberts Center, a formerly unused elementary school that will house one of the College’s Adult Learning Centers as well as the Public Safety and Emergency Services Institute.
Groundbreaking to mark renovations at TUSD’s Roberts Elementary School will be Friday, Feb. 17 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Roberts courtyard at 4355 E. Calle Aurora.
The event begins with a reception, followed by a welcome and remarks from various dignitaries, including 29th Street Corridor Coalition member Rene Gastelum, Tucson Unified School District Assistant Superintendent for Government Programs and Community Outreach Dr. Lupita Garcia, PCC Board of Governors member David Longoria and PCC Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for the College, Dr. Suzanne Miles. Following the groundbreaking ceremony, tours will be given of the building, which PCC is leasing from TUSD.
