Students may earn college credit and a Licensed Practical Nurse certificate at the West Campus. The credit LPN is an exit option and requires admission to the Nursing AAS program.  Learn more...

The certificate is also offered at the Center for Training and Development but you will not earn college credit.

What can I do with this degree?

Career Options:  Take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN®) to be eligible to work as a licensed practical nurse.

Academic Options:  Take courses to qualify as a registered nurse.

* CHM 130/130LB/130IN must have been completed with a grade of C or better within the last six (6) years.  BIO 201IN and 202IN must have been completed with a combined average grade of B or better within the last six (6) years.  For BIO 201IN/202IN, the average grades may be met with a grade of C in one course and a grade of A in the other.  HCA 102 requires a grade of "A".

** General education requirements are fulfilled by required core and support courses: Communication - WRT 101; Analysis and Critical Thinking -MAT 122 (or assessment) and BIO 201IN.

*** NRS 201/201LC requires a minimum enrollment.  If this minimum enrollment is not met, students are eligible for the Practical Nursing Certificate after completion of NRS 201 (Nursing Process III).
