Agri-SURF Summer Bridge Program

Interested in sustainable agriculture?

Are you a graduating high school senior or undecided college freshman?

PCC is recruiting graduating high school seniors and undecided college freshmen to enroll in the free 2014 Agriculture Sustainability and Universal Renewable Farming (Agri-SURF) Summer Bridge Program. The National Institute of Food and Agriculture of the U.S. Department of Agriculture funds the program, under Agreement No. 2012-38422-19902, which covers all participant costs, including books.

Who is eligible?

  • Graduating high school senior or undecided college freshman interested in pursuing a science degree or certificate with an agricultural focus.

During the five-week program, Agri-SURF Summer Bridge students will:

  • Learn about careers in sustainable plant systems and agriculture
  • Learn about PCC and its Sustainable Plant Systems Program
  • Earn three free college credits in your major
  • Work in a state-of-the-art soils laboratory
  • Take field trips and do hands-on field research
  • Use the latest agricultural technology equipment
  • Hear from guest lecturers who are experienced in the field
