STEM Summer Bridge Program

Will you be majoring in a science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) related program?  Get a head start through this learning opportunity funded by a Hispanic-Serving Institution Title III STEM Grant from the U.S. Department of Education.  The grant runs through September 2016.

The STEM Summer Bridge program is designed to introduce low-income, first-generation college students to high-demand careers in STEM fields.  Free daily lunch will be provided.

Program Overview:

Dates and Discipline Focus:

o Engineering, Physics and Math

  • WEEK 1: June 1-5, 2015   OR
  • WEEK 2: June 8-12, 2015

o Science and Math

  • WEEK 3: June 15-19, 2015   OR
  • WEEK 4: June 22-26, 2015

Time: 
   8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  

Location:
   Pima Community College West Campus
   2202 West Anklam Road.

Who is eligible?

Students who are:

  • Interested in learning more about a career in science, technology, engineering or math.
  • A graduating high school senior.
  • Interested in attending Pima Community College.

During the program, STEM Bridge students will:

  • Learn mathematical skills needed for future STEM classes.
  • Gain a better understanding of what it means to be a STEM student.
  • Become familiar with the college experience.
  • Gain a chance to make new friends who also are studying the sciences.

How to Apply

  1. Apply for admission to PCC.
  2. Take math assessments at any PCC Student Services Center.
  3. Call the HSI STEM Grant Advisor at (520) 206-6655
