United Way campaign chancellor's message
Pima Community College’s vision includes a commitment to enhance the economic and cultural vitality of our community. In that spirit, I ask for your support of the 2016 United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA) campaign.
As a member of UWTSA’s Board of Directors, I can attest to the close alignment of UWTSA’s goals – building education, improving financial stability of families, and creating healthy communities – with the College’s values.
As the only community college in Pima County, PCC occupies a unique position as an instrument for social justice. Nurturing the community through social development and investment creates a critical first rung on the ladder of opportunity.
The College offers a payroll deduction plan to those who wish to give to agencies supported through United Way. You can designate where you want your donation to go, including the PCC Foundation, which supports the College and provides scholarships to students.
Last year, the College raised $26,772, and I sincerely thank those who donated for their support. Consistent with that effort, this year’s campaign goal is to raise $30,000 in support of the UWTSA’s critical services. Information about the campaign, including ways to pledge your support, is available on this webpage.
If you are donating for the first time, thank you for joining in support of Tucson’s diverse communities. If you are a returning donor, your ongoing support is greatly appreciated. Together, we can improve the lives of those who need our help the most.
